How much can I borrow?
Every lender uses different income multiples and affordability models. Each lender also treats individual income types, such as bonus, commission or self employed income differently, so the maximum loan available can vary massively between lenders. As a general rule, most lenders will lend a maximum of 4.5 - 4.75 times income, but some lenders can go to 5 times income or higher in certain circumstances. However, monthly credit commitments and regular outgoings may impact this. It's always best to speak with a qualified broker first, who can quickly let you understand your borrowing potential.
