HELPING YOU MAKE THE FIRST STEP
If you are looking to buy your first home then the first step is to speak to a qualified adviser. After a quick phone call we can let you know how much you should be able to borrow, what sort of rates and monthly payment you should expect, along with more detailed information on the buying process and guidance on how to prepare for the mortgage application.
After this initial chat we can send you a mortgage decision in principle, so you can start making offers to estate agents to secure your dream home. And all for Free!
Mortgage rates and deals change daily, so once your offer is agreed we can then search the whole of the market to find you the best deal. We will submit your application to the lender and manage the whole process from start to finish.
Once the mortgage offer is issued our service doesn’t stop there. We will continue to offer advice and support and will liaise with your solicitor right through to the day you pick up the key!

SOME FIRST TIME DOS...
-
Do get registered - while not essential, being on the electoral role is a big tick for many lenders; more so if you are a first time buyer, borrowing for the first time, as it can greatly improve your credit score with the lender.
-
Do some housekeeping - often first time buyers live in rented accommodation and move frequently, meaning they leave bank accounts, credit cards and things like pay slips registered to their parents or previous address. It will make the mortgage process easier and quicker if you have all important accounts and documents registered to the address where you reside, at the point of application; otherwise lenders may have problems identifying you, which can delay things and even affect your credit score.
-
Do save a deposit - generally you will need a minimum of a 5% deposit; typically the bigger the deposit the better the interest rate. Gifts from family members are normally acceptable providing they are happy to sign a “gifted deposit letter”.
-
Do budget - along with the mortgage payment you will need to budget for things such as utilities, council tax, transport cost and insurances. If this is your first time living on your own, it is important to consider monthly food and basic living costs and even allowing enough money to furnish your new home.
-
Do speak to an adviser - speaking to an adviser will help you understand your borrowing capabilities and provide you with the information crucial to buying your first home. Remember at Kingdom Mortgages our advice is Free!
